View Full Version : HTTP Tunnel ; Proxifier & Steam

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can help me out. I have read over the guides and so far they have not help me solve the problem.

Basically, I am using HTTP Tunnel in conjunction with Steam. I have managed to get Steam connecting perfectly, and the friends system works fine alone with launching games.

However, the server browser does not work - not can I join online game servers. I know Steam games are heavily UDP dependent, but should proxifier not help?

Thanks for all tips in advance.

I think Steam has stopped working ( through the tunnel client ) for most, since Steam's last update. This happened with Ventrilo a couple of years ago. Only a few now can get either Steam or Ventrilo to work.

Hey thanks for the feedback. The Steam client actually starts and functions perfectly.

I guess I should just be happy with that? Any suggestions to get online gaming working . . . ?

Other than the ususal suggestions:

This link is very important http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/view.php?id=1015933&da=y Software devs do not test how their apps may effect the tunnel client. Just the opposite. Many try to prevent what the tunnel client does.

If you are unable or are unwilling to do all that this link suggests then the tunnel client may not work for you.

Tips for Newcomers: If you have not already done so please read this post it has a few suggestions on configuration, optimization and trouble shooting. http://forums.http-tunnel.com/showthread.php?t=2145

You may want to try other Socksifying Agents such as ProxyCap and Hummingbird.
